Re: Fix New York’s broken budget
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your e-mail in support of fixing
New York's broken budget.
As you stated in your letter, New York has been facing a serious financial
crisis. I appreciate your taking time to let me know of your support for
the Governor's budget proposal.
I am pleased that we were successful in working with the Governor to pass
an on-time budget that cuts spending and which eliminates the deficit
without raising taxes and fees. This was an important step in trying to
improve our economy and get our State on the right track.
As we enter the final two months of the 2011 Legislative Session, I will be
working on other important issues to help turn our State around, such as a
property tax cap, reducing costly mandates on local governments and school
districts, reforming the tort system, and other measures to reduce the cost
of doing business in New York State.
Again, thank you for your input on the budget. Best regards.
